Guide to Log-Ins & Passwords

Welcome to all new and returning scholars!

Below are the myriad places you will be asked to log in, where / what the passwords are, and what the log-in accomplishes.

User Names In General: available by following the "look up your Cover, Vista or AASU ID [907... student number]" link in the upper left of this page.

Pirate's Cove
In the upper right of this page are three very important links. You may need to create your account, including setting the password, as well as look up your ID (a.k.a. your 907... number).
Password: you make it yourself by selecting the "reset your password" link in the upper right of the Cove log-in page.
Why Cove is important: keeps you in the loop via campus e-mail, allows you access from home to library resources like scholarly articles, allows you to log in to campus computers.

S.H.I.P.
Password: your six-digit birthday i.e. for a January 23rd, 1989 birthday: 012389. If this doesn't work, get in touch with the Registrar's office at 912.344.2576.
Why S.H.I.P. is important: registering for classes, checking grades, paying.

Vista
Password: same as S.H.I.P. If that doesn't work, get in touch with ITS 912.344.2518.
Why Vista is important: online course content.

GIL Pin

Follow the directions at the page to get your Pin. Or, read this. If that doesn't work, get in touch with the library's Circulation Department 912.344.3027.
Why GIL Pin is important: renew library materials, see what you have borrowed, get books and articles from other universities in the Georgia system.

GALILEO
Password: available by logging in with your 907# and your GIL Pin. Or, read this. If that doesn't work, get in touch with the library's Circulation Department 912.344.3027.
Why GALILEO password is important: allows you access from home to library resources like scholarly articles.
