Savannah Book Festival

The second annual Savannah Book Festival is this coming weekend, February 6-8. Starting on Friday with a keynote address by Roy Blount Jr., the 2009 Savannah Book Festival will feature readings and book signings by a wide variety of authors. A detailed schedule is available at the Savannah Book Festival website, with Saturday promising to be packed with authors in subjects ranging from fiction, poetry, history and biography, to lifestyle and contemporary issues. Book-focused family activities will be taking place at Telfair Square, so there is something for all ages. This year's authors include Mary Kay Andrews, J.A. Jance, Rose Rock, Ferrol Sams, Jonathan Miller, Beverly Jenkins, Damon Lee Fowler, Hollis Gillespie and many more. On Sunday, the festival closes with Brunch on the Square with Paula Deen. Tickets for that event may be purchased at the SCAD box office; other events are free and open to the public.
